UWF Women's Tennis Ranked Second in ITA Poll

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The University of West Florida women's tennis team is ranked No. 2 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Assocaiton poll, the association announced on Tuesday. The Argonauts dropped one spot after defeating Saint Leo and Florida Southern on the road.

UWF now sits behind only Barry as the best team in the country.

The Argos picked up decisive victories over No. 43 Saint Leo and No. 11 Florida Southern on the road. In singles play, Carlota Verdu is ranked No. 11, along with Sandra Recuenco who is ranked No. 38, and Aline Midori Da Silva who is ranked No. 67.

The Argos will begin a homestretch on Saturday, where they will host No. 38 Lee at 12:00 p.m.
