SURPRISE, Ariz. — The 2-seed University of West Florida men's tennis team defeated 15-seed St. Thomas Aquinas in dominant fashion on Wednesday at the Surprise Tennis + Racquet Club to advance to the NCAA national quarterfinals for the first time since 2019. The Argos swept the Spartans 4-0, securing wins at the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 6 positions, complemented by doubles victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 flights.
West Florida struck first, earning the doubles point by winning matches at No. 2 and No. 3.
Mark Neyelov and Gonalo Quintela triumphed 6-3 at No. 2 doubles over Nagamitsu Kuroda and Don Vinz Lominoque.

Rafael Sabio followed with a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles against Ondrej Sramek and Erik Victor Tauson. The No. 1 doubles match between
Diego Duran,
Sebastian Rondon, and the St. Thomas Aquinas pair of Theo Renoux and Henry Ronnberg ended unfinished at 4-4.
In singles play, West Florida extended its lead with a series of straight-set victories.
Diego Duran, ranked No. 3 nationally, delivered a 6-2, 6-1 win over Theo Renoux at No. 2 singles, while top-ranked
Sebastian Rondon secured a 6-3, 6-0 win over Lorenzo Meschini at No. 1 singles.
Neyelov completed the sweep at No. 6 singles, defeating Nagamitsu Kuroda 6-2, 6-3. The final dual score was 4-0 in favor of the Argonauts.
