UWF Women’s Soccer Wins First Division I Match

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos make history with their first Division I win, 3-1, against McNeese State University.
 
The Argos started strong, scoring in the first 18 seconds of the match. Kaitlyn Herb recorded her first goal of the season.
 
UWF kept the momentum going and scored again in the fifth minute with a goal from Olof Thorvaldsdottir, the leading scorer of the 2025 season.
 
The Cowgirls answered quickly, scoring their lone goal of the game in the seventh minute.
 
Going into the second half, the teams battled it out for possession. UWF earned a penalty kick in the 72nd minute and scored thanks to transfer Lucia Revuelto.
 
In goal, graduate transfer Karla Guzman-Ortiz made some critical saves and helped the team win.
 
UWF outshot the Cowgirls 15-8. Thorvaldsdottir led with four shots, two on goal.
 
The team plays next Thursday in a non-conference match against Stetson at home. They then travel to Troy, Ala., on Monday.
