PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos won their second match of the 2026 season after beating Stetson University 2-0 on Thursday evening earning head coach
Joe Bartlinski his 400th win at UWF.
Both teams played aggressively and fought for possession for all 90 minutes.
In the 34
th minute, UWF found some momentum.
Lucia Revuelto scored her second goal of the season with an assist from
Zoe Garces.
Going into the second half, the Argos were able to win the ball back more. In the 58
th minute,
Arnicka Louis assisted University of Maryland transfer
Eva Mowery with her first goal of the season. Bringing the score to 2-0.
Goalkeeper
Karla Guzman-Ortiz recorded her first shutout of the season. The Argos defense kept the Hatters to only eight total shots.
Dolev Ovadya and
Jillian Thompson were key defenders, helping clear balls out of danger.
The Argos look to continue this winning start as they travel to Troy, Ala., to take on Troy University Monday, September 7. The team returns home October 1 to face the University of North Florida.
