Jarrod Sanders

Jarrod Sanders started as a graduate assistant coach working with the secondary in January 2023. Sanders spent the last three seasons working in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

Sanders is a native of Flomation, Alabama and spent the 2022 season at Coffeyville CC working with the defensive backs. He spent the two previous seasons as an assistant coach at Hutchinson CC.
 
Sanders played defensive back at Hutchinson CC, helping the Bluedragons win their first Jayhawk Conference championship in 2014. He was a two-year starter in 2014 and 2015. As a freshman, Sanders accounted for 42 tackles, three interceptions, a fumble recovery, and two passes broken up. As a sophomore, Sanders had 55 total tackles, one interception and one pass broken up.
 
Sanders moved onto Texas A&M-Kingsville. Sanders was a second-team Lone Star Conference performer in 2016 with 39 tackles, two tackles for loss, one quarterback sack, two interceptions – one of those returned for a touchdown – and 12 passes broken up. 
 
During his first year of coaching, Sanders helped the 2020-21 Blue Dragons win the school’s first NJCAA Football national championship after an 8-0 season. Sanders’ position group produced the Jayhawk Conference and NJCAA National Defensive Player of the Year in cornerback Roterius Torrence, five all-conference selections, and All-American Deonte Stanley. 
 
During his second season of coaching, Sanders helped the Blue Dragons earn back-to-back Jayhawk Conference Titles finishing the season with a 9-2 record. During his time at Hutchinson Sanders' position group has produced nine Division I players with five of them going Power Five.
