Luke Charles joined the UWF football coaching staff in January 2015 as a graduate assistant. He works with the UWF running backs.
 
Charles was a two-time All-America selection at quarterback for UNC Pembroke, where he played for current UWF head coach Pete Shinnick. During his senior year he was a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, given to the Division II national player of the year. He ranked seventh in Division II with 3,587 passing yards and fifth with 324.3 passing yards per game. He was also third in the country in completions per game (30.09) and seventh in passing touchdowns (33).
 
Charles finished his career as UNCP’s all-time leader in passing yards with 8,954. He also holds 30 other single game, season and career records for the Braves.
