Dylan Brown joined the UWF men's basketball team as an assistant coach in May of 2025.
Brown comes to the University of West Florida with experience ranging from the JUCO level to NCAA Division I. Brown is familiar with the Pensacola area after spending two seasons as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Pensacola State College. In the 2024-2025 season the Pirates went 23-12, won the FCSAA State Championship and advanced to the NJCAA DI National Tournament.
"I'm excited to add Dylan to the staff as an assistant coach here at UWF," Mann said. "He has been a part of winning at each of his stops as an assistant. He helped Coach Pena at Pensacola State and led them to a state championship and reach the national tournament. He has been a part of two Division I staffs that were really successful. He brings strong recruiting ties and good basketball IQ."
In addition to the success at PSC, Brown was an assistant coach on staff at Northwest Florida State College and helped lead the team to an NJCAA National Championship in 2022. The team had a 100-percent graduation rate, and 13 players went on to play at the NCAA level.
Brown also served as a graduate assistant at New Mexico State University where his responsibilities were focused around video breakdown and analysis and recruiting.
"I am really appreciative to Coach Mann and UWF for the opportunity," Brown said. "I'm excited to develop our student athletes both on and off the floor as we work to build champions for life together as a basketball family!"
