Biography

Matt begins his first season assisting Head Coach Bill Elliot with the men's soccer program in 2009. Matt played at West Florida during the 2007 and 2008 seasons and was an integral part of two Gulf South Conference Championship teams during that period. In his senior season he was voted to the All-GSC First Team as well as being named GSC Player of the Week on September 2, 2008.

2008: Named GSC Player of the Week (9/2)... Voted to the All-GSC First Team...Only Argonaut player to start every match of the season...Scored five goals and added a team high nine assists for 19 points on the season...  Picked up a season high two assists vs. St. Leo (9/5)...Recorded game winners against Rollins (9/12), Florida Southern (9/14) and Nova Southeastern (9/21)... Played in a team high 1,782 minutes.

2007: In 2007, Williams started in 19 of 20 matches for the Argos. He totaled three assists in 1,536 minutes played. On the season he took six shots, three of which were on goal.

High School: Lettered three years as a midfielder in soccer and one year in golf... Served as varsity captain as a junior and senior... Named to All-Area first team in 2004... Was named MVP as a senior... Received Florida Bright Futures scholarship... Graduated in top 20 of his class.

Personal: Son of David and Joyce Williams... Has one sister, Lindsay... Majoring in electrical engineering with a minor in mathematics.
