Solange Gomez

Solange Gomez was named the new Graduate Assistant Women’s Golf for the University of West Florida in June of 2023. Gomez plays an important role in supporting the Head Coach, Kristen Dorsey, and contributing to the overall success of the team.
 
Originally from Quito, Ecuador, Gomez discovered her love for golf at the young age of 10 and has been involved in the sport ever since. As a student-athlete, she excelled both on and off the field, demonstrating leadership qualities, golf skills, and a strong work ethic. 
 
Gomez joined the UWF women’s golf program in the fall of 2018 and played five years of eligibility. After graduating with a degree in Comprehensive Marketing from UWF, Gomez decided to pursue her passion for coaching by joining the coaching staff at the University of West Florida. As a Graduate Assistant Coach, she is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the program, including player development, practice planning, game strategy, and recruiting.
 
In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Gomez is also pursuing a graduate degree in Strategic Communication and Leadership Skills at UWF. She understands the importance of balancing academics with athletics and strive to set a positive example for their players both on and off the field.
