October 14, 2015 PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida resumes play this weekend, battling Alabama Huntsville on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and West Alabama on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. The Argonauts resume play after defeating Concordia (Ala.) 3-0 on Sunday, improving the team's record to 8-2. West Florida currently stands at 2-2 in conference play heading into the big weekend.
Ranking among Division II elite
West Florida has shutout its opponents in 50% of contests on the year, a mark that is second best in the GSC and 18th best in all of NCAA Division II.
The Argonauts goals allowed per game average of 0.89 ranks as the best in the GSC and the 30th best in the nation. West Florida's winning percentage of .800 ranks as the 22nd best in NCAA Division II. The Argos also leads the GSC in shots on goal per game with 6.7.
The Argonauts have been ranked as high as No. 15 in the country this season but fell out of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America rankings after a 2-1 setback against now-No. 15-ranked Lee. Since the contest against Lee, the Argonauts have won back-to-back games and now are receiving votes in the national poll.
It's Marteinn Time
Iceland native
Marteinn Urbancic has provided a spark for the West Florida attack, owning 10 points on the year, good for the second most on the team. Urbancic also has the team's highest shooting percentage, at .400.
Urbancic has not seen ample amount of playing time, playing the 15th most minutes on the Argonauts squad, however sits ninth in the Gulf South Conference in point total. In games Urbancic records a point this season, UWF is 6-0.

Stephen Enderlin leads the team in goals and points, tallying 11 points with five goals and an assist through his first 10 games. Freshman

Allan Kuhne are the only three West Florida players who have started all ten games and have helped slow down opposing offensive attacks.

Jacob Murray have split time in net so far this season, with Moreira playing six games and Murray playing four games. Moreira is 4-2 with two shutouts on the year and owns a 1.33 goals against average and a .750 save percentage. Murray is 4-0 on the season with three shutouts, a 0.24 goals against average and a 0.833 save percentage. Moreira and Murray have a combined .763 save percentage, the third best team percentage in the GSC.
"Toughest weekend of the season"

Bill Elliott stated that this weekend's slate of games is the "toughest weekend of the season" in a post-game interview after UWF's 3-0 victory over Concordia College last Sunday. The Argos will compete with the top two teams in the GSC standings this weekend, with first place Alabama Huntsville and second place West Alabama.
Alabama Huntsville currently stands at 7-4 on the season and 5-1 in the GSC, with most recently suffering its first conference defeat of the season at the hands of Lee, by a score of 5-1. Alabama Huntsville has the highest scoring offense in the conference, although 14 of the team's 30 goals came from a 14-0 victory against Oakwood University. Since that point, Alabama Huntsville has outscored its opponents 15-12. Jordan Wright is second in the conference with 24 points, coming from 10 goals and four assists. Michael Winstone is sixth in the conference with a 1.45 goals against average and fifth with a .741 save percentage.
West Alabama is 4-1-1 in the GSC and 5-5-2 overall on its 2015 campaign, having most recently dropped a 3-2 decision to Shorter in overtime on Sunday. Alex Brown leads the Tigers in points, with 12, and goals, with six. Joshua Bramwell has the best goals against average (0.784) and save percentage (.800) in the conference.
