PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 23-ranked University of West Florida volleyball team defeated Lee 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-17) at home on Saturday afternoon at the ninth annual 'Pack it Pink' match. West Florida (22-5, 14-1 GSC) senior
Autumn Duyn (Venice, Fla./Venice HS) tallied 11 kills in the win en route to taking sole possession of second place on the career kills list at UWF.
Duyn is the only player in program history to be ranked in the top two in both career digs (1,438) and career kills (1,292) at West Florida. The senior currently ranks fourth in the GSC in kills per set (3.12) and leads the team this season in kills (268).
"Autumn is just a tremendous all-around player," head coach
Melissa Wolter said. "She is truly a marquee player in every aspect of the game; she does everything for us. For her to be second in career kills and digs in the history of our program is pretty special."
West Florida honored several cancer survivors prior to the match and raised over $4,000 for the Pensacola Breast Cancer Association on Saturday.
"This is an incredible event that has my heart," said Wolter, a breast cancer survivor herself. "I feel like everybody backs this event every year from all of our support staff, our administrative staff, our players and the community. Definitely a fun day, and emotional day for sure, but I feel like our players just fought hard for everybody that's battling something bigger than the game of volleyball in the way that they could."
