The first 150 UWF students to arrive at the game will receive free admission, and fans who are unable to attend the game will be able to follow along with live stats and video at GoArgos.com.
Vs. Christian BrothersUWF visited Christian Brothers in late September and left Memphis with a 2-0 victory. CBU's top scoring threat has been Camila Rodrigues, who ranks third in the GSC with six assists on the year.
Rodrigues was one of five CBU players to be named to one of the All-GSC teams on Monday. Rodrigues was named to the first team while Chelsea Casaccia, and defenders Maddie Cobb, Sydney Piper and Gabrielle Pilgrim were second team selections.
Entering the GSC TournamentThe winner of Tuesday's match will travel to Florence, Alabama, where they will face No. 2 seed Lee in the semifinal round of the tournament on Friday. Should UWF win on Friday, the Argos would play in the GSC Tournament Final.
West Florida has had great success historically in the GSC Tournament, as the Argos have the most tournament appearances (19), tournament wins (26), finals appearances (16) and GSC Titles (9) in the history of the conference. CBU ranks second in each of those categories, with five consecutive conference titles from 2000-04.
UWF is 19-7 all-time against Christian Brothers and beat the Bucs 2-0 in Memphis earlier this season. The last time the two teams met in postseason play came in the 2013 GSC Championship Game, which UWF won 4-0 en route to an NCAA Championship appearance.
All-GSC PerformersUWF led the GSC with six all-conference performers, which were announced on Monday. Defenders
Svenja Burkhardt (Bad Salzuflen, Germany/Gymnasium Heepen) and
Emily Vogler (Lynn Haven, Fla./Mosley HS) were each named to the All-GSC first team after patrolling the backline for UWF this season. The Argonauts held opponents to a conference-best 0.58 goals against average.
Daryl Bell (Sarasota, Fla./Southeast HS) and
Amber Pennybaker (Indianapolis, Ind./Tampa) were also first team members, after Bell finished second in the conference in goals scored (14) and points (33). Both Bell and Pennybaker ranked in the top 10 in total goals and total points. Bell's season has been highlighted by her last six games, during which she has scored nine goals.
Juniors
Sara Helgadottir (Grindavík, Iceland/Menntaskólinn í Kópavogi) and
Kaley Ward (Saint Cloud, Fla./Tampa) were both named to the All-GSC second team, as a midfielder and a forward, respectively. Helgadottir has assisted on three goals this year, while Ward ranks second on the team in goals, assists and total points.
Regional RankingsUWF jumped to fourth in the latest South Region rankings, and the Argos sit behind Barry, North Alabama and Tampa. The winners of the GSC and Sunshine State Conference tournaments get an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, while the rest of the South Region field is made up of four at-large teams.
