Taylor Throws One-Hitter For UWF

University of West Florida sophomore Becca Taylor (Panama City, Fla./Rutherford HS) had a career day Tuesday afternoon after she pitched a one-hit shutout in West Florida's 3-0 win against Mercyhurst University. Taylor only walked four batters in the contest and struck out three in the game. Taylor was helped by her fellow defensive teammates as she forced 13 groundouts.

"Becca did a great job for us today," said head coach Melissa Paul. "She's hitting her spots and keeping the ball down, and we can't ask anything more from her. She's giving us a lot of confidence heading into the weekend."
