After scoreless first half, Argos use offensive outburst to take 3-0 victory

BOX SCORE

October 1, 2016

PENSACOLA, Fla.  – After a mundane, scoreless first half, the University of West Florida posted one of its most impressive single-half offensive showings in recent memory to down the Saint Leo Lions 3-0 to improve to 3-4 on the season.

In the first half, UWF was outshot 5-2 before the first half finished with a 0-0 tie.

Stephen Enderlin wasted little time in after the second-half whistle, as the sophomore netted his first goal of the year after collecting a cross from Isaiah Lopez in the 48th minute.

After Erick Rivera drew a foul in the Saint Leo box, Marteinn Urbancic recorded his third goal of the year on a penalty kick to make the score 2-0 in the 74th minute.

Chandler Castleman capped UWF's scoring by chipping a shot over SLU goalkeeper James White after collecting a through ball from Tristan Rehrig. The goal marks as Castleman's second of 2016.

UWF outshot SLU 11-4 in the second half and posted twice as many shots on goal in the match.

Phil D'Amico notched his third clean sheet of the year and stopped three shots in the effort. Defenders Barrett Mills, Allan Kuhne and Daniel Smith all posted strong efforts on the backline to prevent any chance of a Lions' attack.

West Florida will make a quick trip to Mobile on Tuesday for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
