CAN YOU DIG IT?
- Senior Tori Martella claimed the UWF all-time digs record last Friday in a loss against Shorter, recording 30 digs. Those 30 were the second-most the Jacksonville native has posted this season, and it was just the seventh 30-dig performance in program history. Last year, Martella set UWF's single-season digs record with 576, and has 502 so far in 2016.

UWF CAREER DIGS RECORD
1,749 - Tori Martella (2013-present)
1,706 - Jerica Carter (2005-2008)
1,519 - Autumn Duyn (2011-2015)

MONIQUE STCYR SET A RECORD
- Just a day after Martella set the digs record, junior Monique StCyr helped her way to the UWF all-time assists record by surpassing Madeline Gonzalez's (2007-2008) 2,926 assists. StCyr's 1,179 assists in 2015 were the fourth most in a single season by a UWF player, and her 976 this season is already the sixth most in a single season at UWF. Including this year, StCyr has posted three of the top 11 assists marks in single-season UWF history, and her 976 assists this year rank sixth in the UWF record books. StCyr set the all-time mark on her 16th assist against Lee on Saturday.

UWF CAREER ASSISTS RECORD
2,973 - Monique StCyr (2014-present)
2,926 - Madeline Gonzalez (2007-2008)
2,601 - Tricia Tirabassi (2009-2011)
2,577 - Melina Pereira (2003, 2005-2006)

IT'S FRIDAY, FRIDAY
- UWF is 7-5 on Fridays this year, with a 5-1 mark in GSC play. Monique StCyr has averaged 37.8 assists in those 10 matches and 10.4 assists per set, while also tallying 14 service aces.
- Current UWF points leader Kathryn Torre has recorded at least eight kills in nine of UWF's 12 Friday matches and she has 26 total blocks in those matches. In all, she has 117 kills in those matches, averaging 2.6 kills per set.
- Senior libero Tori Martella has done a ton of her defensive damage on Fridays, averaging an impressive 5.6 digs per set on Fridays.

STARTING HOT
- The Argonauts have won the first set of a match 24 times this season out of a possible 27 matches.

SO MUCH DEPTH
- West Florida and North Alabama stand as the only teams in the Gulf South Conference with three players averaging at least 3.0 points per set. Additionally, 12 UWF student-athletes are averaging at least a point per set, which tops the conference.

NOVEMBER 1 IN HISTORY
- The first of November has been a good day for the arts, historically. Michaelangelo's painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel was shown to the public for the first time in 1512, while William Shakespeare's plays Othello and The Tempest were performed for the first time in 1604 and 1611. Both plays were opened at Whitehall Palace in London. Outside of the art world, John Adams became the first U.S. president to live in the White House on November 1, 1800, Seabiscuit defeated War Admiral in the Pimlico Special, which has since been declared the "Match of the Century," and Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jacques Plante made history on this date in 1959 by becoming the first NHL player to wear a protective mask in a game.
- November 1 is a little light on celebrity birthdays, though Gary Player, a World Golf Hall of Famer born in 1935, is a great choice to top any list of celebrity birthdays. Joining Player are Apple CEO Tim Cook (1960), baseball player Fernando Valenzuela (1960), and Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis (1962).

BACK ON TOP
- Statistically, UWF is second in the GSC in conference hitting percentage at .278, while having the lowest opponent attack percentage at .135.
- West Florida also leads in assists per set (14.4), kills per set (15.5) and blocks per set (2.5) in conference play.
- Rachel Neblett is hitting a scorching .392 in conference action this year to rank second in the conference, while teammate Kathryn Torre is fourth in the conference with a .375 hitting percentage in GSC play.
- Neblett leads all GSC players with 1.16 blocks per set in conference play.
- Tori Martella ranks second in the GSC with 4.87 digs per set this season.

PACK IT PINK
- In addition to an impressive 3-0 win over No. 21 North Alabama on October 8, UWF's annual "Pack it Pink" event raised $3,766 for the Pensacola Breast Cancer Association.
- Since the event started 10 years ago, UWF has raised over $50,000 going towards breast cancer fundraisers.

VS. RANKED OPPONENTS
- UWF has played six top-25 opponents this year, and have had numerous standouts in those contests including Tori Martella, who owns a 5.52 digs per set average against those teams.
- Rachel Neblett leads the team with 0.95 blocks per set against ranked opponents, and is a primary player in helping UWF out block its opponents 2.07 to 1.80 against top-25 teams.
- Kathryn Torre is averaging 2.96 kills per set against top-25 teams to lead the Argonauts, while also owning a team-best .312 attack percentage in those matches.
- Monique StCyr is averaging 8.74 assists per set against nationally ranked teams.

HEY, NOT BAD
- UWF is 46-8 all-time when playing its three opponents this weekend in Valdosta State, Christian Brothers and Union.

SCOUTING VALDOSTA STATE
- VSU stands at 8-7 in conference play and, like UWF, fell to Lee and Shorter on the road last weekend. Though it has been a bit of an off year for the Blazers, they swept North Alabama in Valdosta earlier this year.
- UWF took a 3-1 win at Valdosta State in September and is 25-6 against the Blazers all-time.
- Valdosta State ranks near the middle of the GSC in most categories, but the Blazers are particularly dangerous at the net, averaging a conference-best 2.18 blocks per set. At the heart of the block have been Kayla Widera, Ashley Miller and Susana Peonia.
- Peonia has established herself as one of the best all-around players in the league this year, averaging 0.85 blocks per set, 2.68 digs per set, and 3.40 kills per set.
- Monique StCyr's two highest single-match assist totals came against Valdosta State earlier this year (58) and last year at VSU (59).

SCOUTING UNION
- UWF will have a chance at a revenge match against Union on Friday, after the Lady Bulldogs upset the Argonauts on October 1.
- Despite standing at 9-18 overall, Union will bring one of the most well-rounded teams in the conference to the Field House, as 10 players are averaging at least one point per set.
- The Bulldogs are led by Deja Moorer and freshman Katie O'Malley, who are each averaging 2.33 kills per set. Kristen Goggin is sixth in the GSC in service aces (29), Hannah Huguley is sixth in assists per set (8.24), and McKenna Carter is fifth in blocks per set (0.98).
- O'Malley and Carter did much of the damage against UWF earlier this year, totaling 27 kills on 42 tries and hitting .524 as a pair.
- UWF is 8-1 all-time against Union.

SCOUTING CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
- The Lady Bucs are led by five-time GSC Freshman of the Week Emma Lenoir. The rookie is third in the conference in kills (3.53 per set) and service aces (35).
- Mary Kathryn Miller and 2013 GSC and South Region Freshman of the Year Brinsley Cooper will also be prominent figures on Saturday against UWF. Miller has hit a conference-best .371, while averaging a block per set, and Cooper has hit .315 with 2.22 kills per set.

AT THE SOUTH REGION CROSSOVER
- Following UWF's 2-1 weekend against tough Sunshine State Conference competition at the South Region Crossover, Corisha Smith and Rachel Neblett were each named to the all-tournament team.
- Smith had team highs with 41 kills and a .468 attack percentage, while adding four service aces and four blocks in the two-day tournament. The senior posted double-digit kill totals in each of the three games, with 15 in the sweep over Eckerd on Friday afternoon, during which she hit .636, 14 against Eckerd on Friday night, and 12 against Nova Southeastern on Saturday. She now has 10 matches with at least 11 kills on the year.
- Neblett had a career day against Eckerd and recorded career bests with 18 kills and 19.5 points. The junior hit .438 in the match and averaged 3.56 kills per set during  the weekend with five blocks.
- West Florida hit a sterling .265 in three matches over the weekend and improved to 6-5 in non-conference play this year.
