PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida baseball team continues Gulf South Conference play this weekend, as they face North Alabama in Florence, Alabama this weekend. Saturday will consist of a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m., with Sunday featuring a single game also starting at 1:00 p.m.
 
REDOVIAN WALKS IT OFF: West Florida baseball won its second consecutive game in walk off fashion on Wednesday, as Jimmy Redovian hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to break a scoreless tie and give UWF the 1-0 win... The win gave UWF its sixth victory in the last seven games... Redovian's walk off home run marks as the first occasion in 2016 and the first time since Ledarious Clark hit one against Lee on March 28, 2015.
 
FRESHMEN FOUR: UWF sent four different freshmen to the mound on Wednesday against Stillman, as Troy Brown, Garrett Peek, Gray Dorsey and Cole Crowder combined for a shutout... Troy Brown struck out four and allowed just one hit over three innings to start it off for UWF... Gulf Breeze natives Garrett Peek and Gray Dorsey each threw two innings, with Peek striking out two and Dorsey making his first appearance of the season... Crowder earned his first collegiate win as he was able to prevent Stillman from scoring when threatening with runners in scoring position in the eighth inning.

POSTING ZEROS: UWF led the GSC with 10 shutouts in 2015 and is on a similar track for 2016, having four shutouts through the first 15 games... Three shutouts is the most in the GSC (tied with Union), and the second most in NCAA Division II... UWF set a new 2016 best, posting 16 consecutive scoreless innings last week stretching from the end of last Wednesday's game against Spring Hill to the second game of Saturday's double header against Valdosta State... UWF's 10 shutouts in 2015 was the third most for a single season in GSC history.
 
GSC'S BEST: UWF's 2.25 team ERA marks as the best in the conference, and although early in the season, if the Argonauts were to maintain their current pace, it would be the second best team ERA in Gulf South Conference history... Delta State's 1974 team currently owns the GSC record, having a team ERA of 2.20... West Florida's 2014 team posted the third best ERA in GSC history, as the pitching staff posted a 2.50 ERA... SCOUTING NORTH ALABAMA: North Alabama has gotten off to a 5-1 start in GSC play after taking two out of three against West Georgia and sweeping Shorter last weekend... In non-conference action, the Lions lost two of three against Spring Hill... North Alabama enters their series against UWF with a 10-3 overall record... Peyton Sockwell and Kevin Hall rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in the GSC in batting average... Sockwell owns a .462 average while Hall posts a .458 batting average... Kyle Hubbuch is the team's leader in RBI, having 18 on the season... Hubbuch also has five home runs on the season... UNA is batting .320 as a team while having a 2.93 team ERA.
 
SERIES HISTORY VS. LIONS: UWF holds a slim advantage in the all-time series, winning 35 contests in comparison to UNA's 33... The Argos are 8-1 in its last nine contests against the Lions, including taking two out of three last year in Pensacola... UWF swept UNA the last time the Argos traveled to Florence, Alabama beating North Alabama 3-2, 2-0 and 4-0 in 2014.
 
LAST TIME OUT: UWF last played UNA on Feb. 15, 2015, beating the Lions 9-3 at Jim Spooner Field... Nic Strasser had a 2-for-3 day with a pair of RBI... Nick Kerkmann posted a 2-for-4 showing with two RBI... Alex Greene went 2-for-5 with an RBI... Jimmy Redovian had an RBI and a run scored in a 2-for-3 day at the plate... Josh McLaney had a dominating relief apperance in the contest, striking out six over three innings where he did not allow a runner to reach base.
