PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF baseball standouts Zack Stokes and Micky Scheetz were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® teams, the organization announced Tuesday.
Stokes was named a First Team Academic All-American as an outfielder, while Scheetz earned third-team honors as a pitcher. UWF was one of just three NCAA Division II programs to place multiple student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-America teams.
Stokes maintained a 4.00 grade-point average as a graduate student pursuing a degree in accounting. The honor adds to an impressive list of postseason accolades for Stokes, who earned numerous honors from various organizations.
The Naperville, Illinois, native started all 59 games and led the Argonauts with a .447 batting average, 97 hits, 76 runs, 25 doubles, 14 home runs, 164 total bases, a .756 slugging percentage and a .552 on-base percentage. He also drove in 45 runs, drew 51 walks and stole 10 bases.
Stokes was equally effective defensively, recording 152 putouts and committing only one error for a .994 fielding percentage.
Scheetz earned Third Team Academic All-America honors after compiling a 3.54 cumulative GPA as an accounting major. He also earned numerous accolades from various organizations for his efforts out of the bullpen
The left-hander led the UWF pitching staff with a 1.53 ERA and 16 saves across 31 appearances. Scheetz finished the season with a 3–2 record and allowed just eight earned runs over 47 innings while recording 46 strikeouts and issuing only 11 walks. He did not allow a home run during the season and posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
Stokes and Scheetz helped lead West Florida to a 43–16 overall record during the 2026 season. The Argonauts finished 21–12 in conference play and posted a 20–4 record at Jim Spooner Field.
The Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The 11 members of the Division II First Team recorded an average GPA of 3.88.
