PENSACOLA, Fla. – For the third straight game at Jim Spooner Field, the University of West Florida won in walk off fashion as Brandon Tyler's 10th inning RBI single sealed a 6-5 victory over the Spring Hill College Badgers on Wednesday night.

West Florida (12-7, 6-3 GSC) jumped out to a early 5-0 lead after scoring three runs in the first and posting a two-run second inning. Justin Ambrosino got the scoring started with an RBI double down the left field line, while John Price and Colby Brown each recorded RBI singles before the end of the inning. In the second inning, Jean Figueroa and Price would record RBIs via sacrifice flies to extend UWF's lead to 5-0.

Gray Dorsey made his first college start on Wednesday, throwing three innings of shutout baseball. Dorsey recorded four strikeouts while walking just one batter and allowing four hits.

Fellow freshman Cole Crowder would come in relief for Dorsey and would go on to throw three innings, allowing one run and two hits. Garrett Peek, the third freshmen arm used by UWF, would go 1.2 innings and allow one unearned run on two hits and one walk.

The UWF lineup was held scoreless for seven innings before Tyler's walk off. Spring Hill (10-9, 3-0 SIAC) began to chip away at UWF's lead in the sixth, as Ulysses Fluellen would hit a solo home run to cut UWF's lead to 5-1. The Badgers would tack on another run in the seventh, before tallying three runs in the ninth to pull off a late-inning comeback.

Steven McClellan, who earned his first win of the season, also recorded the first blown save of his UWF career as Spring Hill surmounted UWF's 5-2 lead in the ninth with McClellan on the mound. The UWF closer would throw two innings, allowing two earned runs and four hits. After a rough first inning for McClellan, the junior was able to recover nicely in the 10th inning, allowing just one base runner to make UWF's walk off win in the 10th possible.

To start things off for UWF in the 10th, Ben Emery recorded his first hit of the season in his first at bat of the season to give the Argos a runner on with one out. Ladeavon Matthews would pinch run for Emery at first base, and would quickly move over as Kyle Hamner's single through the left side set up a two-man on, one-out situation for Tyler. Tyler was able to chop one through the right side and score Matthews to seal UWF's ninth win in its last 11 contests.

Six of nine in UWF's starting lineup had at least one hit, led by Ambrosino who had a 3-for-5 performance making him one of three Argonauts to have two three-hit games in 2016. Price led the team with two RBI, while both Emery and Matt Sullivan each recorded their first hits of the season.

West Florida now looks towards a pivotal Gulf South Conference series against Alabama Huntsville, who is currently the No. 9-ranked team in the nation according to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. First pitch for the Argos-Chargers Saturday doubleheader is set for Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
