PENSACOLA, Fla. – The UWF women's soccer team heads back on the road for the second trip this season, visiting Valdosta, Georgia, and Carrollton, Georgia, for Gulf South Conference games against Valdosta State and West Georgia. The game against VSU is scheduled for a 7 p.m. ET start on Friday, September 23, and Sunday's game against West Georgia is slated for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

Freshman Phenom
- Freshman Marjorie Boilesen leads UWF with 11 points through the team's first six games.
- Boilesen ranks third in DII in assists per game (0.83) and fifth in the nation in total assists (5).
- The Brazilian has scored at least one point in every game of her college career and has added an assist in each of the last five games.
- The last UWF player to have an assist in five consecutive games or score a point in six games in a row was 2012 NSCAA National Player of the Year Chelsea Palmer, who accomplished both feats in 2013.
- She leads the GSC in shots per game (4.7) and ranks second in assists (5).
Ward on a Roll
- Senior forward Kaley Ward has been a major offensive catalyst for UWF in the last four games, during which West Florida is 3-1.
- Ward has netted a goal in each of the last four games. She accomplished the same feat as a junior in 2015, with six goals across four games against Lynn, No. 1 Rollins, Tampa and Spring Hill. The Saint Cloud, Florida, native now has 13 goals in her career at UWF.
- Her four goals rank third in the Gulf South Conference, and her eight points rank ninth.
Scouting Valdosta State
- VSU brings an 0-5-1 record into the weekend with an 0-2 conference mark. The team lost 0-1 against Alabama Huntsville and 0-4 against West Alabama over the weekend.
- Valdosta State has scored just one goal, being outscored by opponents 11-1. Freshman Megan Muffley has scored the lone Blazers goal, doing so against Clayton State.
- The Blazers had two players, goalkeeper McCall Gardner and defender Shelby Jennings, on the 2015 All-GSC team but lost both to graduation last season.
- Despite 2016 being just the sixth year of the VSU women's soccer program, the team has established itself as a contender for conference titles. The Blazers have a 28-14-8 record in conference play since the team's inception in 2011 and won the GSC Tournament in 2014.
Scouting West Georgia
- Reigning Gulf South Conference Player of the Week Susana Abundiz has led the Wolves offensively with six goals. The senior scored twice in the 2-1 victory over Alabama Huntsville on Sunday and twice more against Emmanuel on Wednesday. Those eight goals lead the conference.
- UWG holds a 5-2 record with a 1-1 record in the GSC. The team fell to West Alabama 2-1 before defeating UAH over the weekend.
- The team returns 2015 All-Gulf South Conference midfielder Francessca Ellis and 2014 All-GSC first team defender Anna Leah Deese.
Pacing the Conference
- Teams led by Joe Bartlinski have posted seven of the 11 highest single-season win totals in GSC history.
- In UWF's 20 years in the Gulf South Conference, the Argonauts have posted a record of 136-14-3 and have outscored their opposition 504-80.
- With Friday's win against Union, West Florida became the first team in Gulf South Conference history to score 500 goals in league play.
- West Florida has an all-time .899 winning percentage in GSC play.
