PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF baseball (10-8, 4-2 GSC) will open a two-game series vs. No. 16 Southern Indiana (5-4) beginning Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. and wrapping up Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. The twinbill will conclude a seven-game homestand for the Argos.

The Argos travel to Mississippi College this weekend. After Wednesday, the team will not play at home again until Mar. 24, when Alabama Huntsville travels to Pensacola.
OPENER DELAYED ONE HOUR
* Tuesday's baseball game between UWF baseball and No. 16 Southern Indiana at Jim Spooner Field has been pushed back one hour to 7 p.m. Game 2 is still slated for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
ARGOS SWEEP UNION IN HISTORIC SERIES
* Tony Kucera (3-1) got the start in Game 1 and overcame some rough sailing early to pick up his third win. Kucera went seven innings in his longest start of the year, allowing just six hits and two runs (two earned). He struck out seven and walked two.
* The Argos fell behind 1-0 early but quickly struck for five runs in the bottom of the first vs. Union starter Skyler Harrison (0-5). The team added two more runs in the fourth with two outs and three more in the fifth to put the game out of reach.
* Joey Bend enjoyed a big game, going 3 for 5 with four RBIs and one run scored. Nick Kerkmann finished 2 for 3 and scored three runs. Brandon Harmon went 2 for 3 with two runs scored.
* Dylan Mills-Derouen spun seven innings of no-hit ball to earn the win in Game 2. The lefty starter allowed two walks and a run on a sacrifice fly in the third but otherwise held the Bulldogs down. The no-hitter was the first in GSC play for the Argonauts since Apr. 9, 2011 when Ben Hawkins twirled a no-no vs. West Alabama.
* Strasser hit a home run in his first at-bat vs. Union starter Scott Shearer. He completed the cycle with a triple in the sixth vs. Bulldog relief man Luis Larrinaga. The cycle was the first of Mike Jeffcoat's tenure as head coach at UWF.
* UWF baseball completed the sweep of Union with a 7-1 victory at Jim Spooner Field Sunday. Kirk Maddox (1-2) picked up the first win of his UWF career by scattering five hits and allowing just one run (one earned) over 6.1 innings.
* Argo pitching surrendered just four runs over the three-game series vs. the Bulldogs. Maddox struck out a season-best nine batters en route to the win. Chase Evans and Alex Knight combined to fire a scoreless final 2.2 innings to complete the victory.
SCOUTING NO. 16 SOUTHERN INDIANA
* The Screaming Eagles are 5-4 overall this season. The team is 5-3 at home and 0-1 on neutral fields. These will be the team's first true "away" games.
* The team gained plenty of preseason recognition, coming in at No. 13 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Division II Preseason Top 40 poll released Dec. 21 and 25th in the NCBWA Preseason poll. The team was most recently ranked No. 16 by the NCBWA in a poll released Feb. 28.
* The Screaming Eagles are led by Buddy Johnson, who is hitting .387. Five different Screaming Eagles are hitting at least .300.
* Southern Indiana sports a 2.96 team ERA. Chase Partain has anchored the strong pitching, posting a 1.50 ERA over two starts and 12 innings so far.
HARMON ON FIRE
* Brandon Harmon has reached base in 13 straight games, which is the highest mark on the team this season. He is one of two Argos who currently have a streak of seven straight reaching base. Nic Strasser, who has also hit safely in six straight, has also accomplished the feat.
* Harmon now has the highest batting average on the team at .375. He has accumulated six hits and six runs scored over the last four games.
* Harmon has been a major part of an offensive explosion for UWF. The Argos have scored 54 runs over the last five games, and, in that span, have recorded 70 hits.
