CLEARWATER, Fla. – No. 14 West Florida team finished in third place with a total of 710.5 pts at the Spartan Invitational in Clearwater this week. The Argonauts fell to both Wingate and Tampa, who finished with 1128 pts and 876.5 pts respectively. Indian River, Lenoir Rhyne, Florida Southern, Saint Leo, Catawba and Nova Southeastern rounded out the field behind the Argos.
 
Sophomore Ester Rizzetto dominated at the invitational finishing with four first place finishes in the 100 Free (49.85), 200 IM (2:01.64), 50 Free (23.13) and 100 Butterfly (54.72). She also placed second in the 100 Backstroke by recording a time of 55.59.  

Yael Danieli took second in the 400 IM (4:24.21) and third in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:02.54. Morgan Ayers finished fourth in the 100 Breaststroke (1:02.33).
 
Other top-five finishes included Katie Balent in the 200 Butterfly (fourth; 2:04.72), Stefanie Markwardt in the 100 Butterfly (fourth; 55.66) and Caitlin Tierney in the 50 Free (fourth; 23.77).
 
West Florida also finished four good relays, taking third in the 400 Free (3:23.79), 400 Medley (3:45.44), 200 Medley (1:43.31) and the 200 Free (1:34.49).
 
Next on the schedule is a home meet against Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, January 4^th at the UWF Aquatic Center.
