PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF baseball will host Christian Brothers and No. 18/22 Nova Southeastern at Jim Spooner Field Saturday through Tuesday. The Argos open Gulf South Conference play vs. the Bucs with a three-game set Saturday and Sunday and remain in action Monday and Tuesday for a two-game series vs. the Sharks.

The Argos snapped a four-game losing streak at Spring Hill Tuesday.
Bryant Harris Jr. went deep, and UWF used a platoon of hurlers starting with
Tony Kucera to defeat the Badgers 6-2.
"Winners let adversity help them learn their lessons so they don't keep repeating the same mistakes," said Jeffcoat. "That's what we're looking for our guys to do."
The Saturday doubleheader vs. Christian Brothers will begin Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The series finale will begin Sunday at 1:00 p.m. First pitch Monday vs. Nova Southeastern is slated for 6:00 p.m. The set will close Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
ARGOS BACK ON TRACK WITH ROAD WIN VS. BADGERS
* UWF baseball got back in the win column with a 6-2 victory at Spring Hill Wednesday evening. The Argos scored four of their six runs with two outs.
Bryant Harris Jr. hit the first home run of his UWF career.
* "Obviously it was good to get on the W side, but we've still got a lot of work to do offensively," Jeffcoat said postgame.
* The Badgers (2-6) outhit the Argos 6-5. The Badgers committed three errors in the game.
Joey Bend was the only UWF bat with two hits.
Dylan Menhennett and
Matthew Estrada each scored two runs.
ROSSI EARNS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK HONORS
* Pitcher
Tony Rossi earned the first Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week award of his UWF career Tuesday.
* The righty is coming off six solid innings at Rollins last Saturday. He scattered seven hits vs. the Tars, striking out four and walking one.
ARGOS AT HOME
* UWF is 20-8 at home since the start of the 2018 season. The Argos began the 2019 season with a three-game series vs. No. 4/5 Florida Southern. The Argos took Game 1 before falling by a combined three runs in Game 2 and 3.
* UWF began last season's GSC home schedule by winning 10 of 11 games.
SCOUTING CHRISTIAN BROTHERS
* The Bucs are 1-4 so far this season. The team was swept in a season-opening series vs. Northwest Oklahoma State before splitting a doubleheader vs. Miles Feb. 9.
* Christian Brothers is paced offensively by Jared Cramer, who has hit .364 through the first four games of the season. Only one other Buc (Garrett Reason-Kerkhoff) is hitting at least .268 this season.
* The CBU staff has a collective 7.01 ERA. No hurler has an earned run average less than 4.15.
* The Bucs defense has committed nine errors through five games.
* UWF is 19-1 vs. Christian Brothers since 2012. The Argos have won 18 consecutive games vs. the Bucs.
SCOUTING NOVA SOUTHEASTERN
* The Sharks are 4-1 overall this year and 2-1 in Sunshine State Conference play. The team most recently won two out of three games vs. Barry University.
* Nova was tabbed as the No. 18 team in the nation by Perfect Game in the preseason and as No. 22 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll.
* Six Shark bats are hitting at least .304 this season. The team is paced offensively by Christian Demby, who is 8-for-16 with three home runs, two doubles, five runs, and eight RBIs through five games.
* The Nova staff has a collective 4.00 ERA. Nathan Campbell is second on the team with nine innings pitched. He has an ERA of 1.00.
* The Sharks have committed nine errors through five games.
* This is the first meeting between the Argos and Sharks since 2016. UWF and Nova met May 20th of that year in the South Regional. Nova won 6-4.
