PENSACOLA, Fla. – No. 17 UWF baseball will will look to stay hot Tuesday and Wednesday at Jim Spooner Field vs. North Georgia. Both games are slated to start at 6:00 p.m.
UWF (14-7, 8-1 GSC) will complete its nine-game homestand with the pair of games vs. the Nighthawks (15-5, 6-3 PBC) before hitting the road the next two weekends. The Argos will travel to Valdosta State Mar. 16-17 and travel to No. 1 Delta State the following weekend. In between, UWF will host Wisconsin-Whitewater at Blue Wahoos Stadium Mar. 20. Start time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
UWF TAKES TWO OF THREE VS. EMBRY-RIDDLE
* The Argos took two of three vs. the Embry-Riddle Eagles over the weekend.
Tony Kucera allowed just one run and four hits over six innings to power a Game 1 victory Friday. The Argos and Eagles split a doubleheader Saturday.
Tony Rossi threw the first complete game of his UWF career in the series-clinching Game 3 win.

Matt Sullivan continued his hard-hitting ways last week. Over four games vs. William Carey and Embry-Riddle, the senior piled up six hits, including two home runs, five runs scored and five RBIs. He is now hitting .355 this season with four homers and 18 RBIs.
ARGOS STAY AT NO. 3 IN LATEST NCBWA SOUTH REGION POLL
* UWF baseball remained at No. 3 in the latest NCBWA South Region poll released Monday. The Argos have now been ranked No. 3 in two straight editions of the rankings.
* Delta State (17-3) topped the poll with Tampa coming in at No. 2. Nova Southeastern, Barry, Florida Tech, Saint Leo, Mississippi College, Alabama Huntsville, and Valdosta State rounded out the South Region Top 10.
UWF REMAINS AT THE TOP OF THE GULF SOUTH
* The Argos are still the top team in the GSC with a current record of 8-1. Delta State stands in second at 9-2 followed by Ala. Hunstville (5-3) in third and Lee (4-3) in fourth.
* UWF is second in the conference in team batting average (.304) and runs scored (147). The team is second in ERA (3.08) and second in fielding percentage (.971). UWF is the only team in the conference to be in the top three in batting average, ERA, and fielding percentage currently.

Matt Sullivan is tied for second in the conference in doubles with eight.
Mike Farnell and
Robert Lopez are tied for third with seven.

Matthew Jones is second in the conference in runs scored (23). Sullivan is tied for third with 22.

Tony Kucera ranks fourth in the conference with a 1.78 ERA.
Andrew Vaccacio is fifth with a 1.99 ERA.
Josh Pahlad has moved into second in the GSC with three saves.
SCOUTING NORTH GEORGIA
* North Georgia comes into play 15-5 overall and 6-3 in the Peach Belt Conference. The team is 9-4 at home and 6-1 away this season.
* The Nighthawks are coming off a hard-fought weekend series in which they took two of three vs. No. 12 USC Aiken. They have won three of their last four games.
* The Nighthawks are hitting .282 as a team this season. The squad averages six runs scored per game.
* The UNG rotation owns a 3.47 ERA. Five hurlers have at least five appearances and an ERA of 2.60 or lower.
* The Argos are 11-14-1 vs. North Georgia since 2006. UWF is 8-8 at home vs. UNG in that same span. The Nighthawks have won each of the last five head-to-head matchups.
