Donor Spotlight: Larry and Nancy Warrenfeltz

Larry & Nancy Warrenfeltz have been giving to UWF Athletics since 2003, since then the Warrenfeltz's have become loyal fans and supporters. You will find them at many UWF Athletics events cheering on their Argos. Thank you, Larry & Nancy, for all you do and for making UWF Athletics a better place. Go Argos!

  • Why do you give to UWF Athletics?
We know the tremendous value of college sports for women. Our daughter played Argo softball from 2002 to 2006 and graduated in May of 2006. (The softball team hummed "Pomp and Circumstances" as she walked down the aisle of the team bus at the GSC Tournament.) She credits the lessons she learned — especially perseverance and time management — for her successful completion of a demanding doctoral program in Physical Therapy at the University of Washington.

  • Why do you continue to give annually?
Students and players come to UWF for four or five years. Like the staff and coaches, fans are here for a LONG time. Each new student athlete joins our UWF family. We watch them grow, graduate, and go on to do great things … and we welcome new freshmen to the family.

  • What impact do you think your annual donations have on the UWF Athletic Department?
Coaches have to be good managers of tight budgets. That's just the nature of the game and part of the job. If we can make that job a little easier, we welcome the chance. When Argonaut teams have the uniforms, gear, and equipment they need to be proud representatives of the university, that's good for everybody at UWF. Plus, while sausage biscuits are always good for breakfast, sometimes it's nice to have steak and eggs.

  • What makes you passionate about UWF Athletics?
The coaches of every sport at UWF do an amazing job of turning young athletes into better people and better future employees, as well as better athletes in their sports. Excellence is expected. The whole atmosphere surrounding UWF Athletics encourages pride and excellence—in the classroom as well as on the fields and courts.
