FIRST HALF: UWF scored two goals in the first half to take control of this match.
Annie Rolf got the Argos on the board first in the 14
th minute with her second goal of the year. Sophomore
Peyton Peffers scored in the 16
th minute off a header to pick up her first goal of the season.
SECOND HALF: Katie Vance helped the Argos increase their lead to three when she struck the back of the net with a laser from outside the box in the 66
th minute. Rolf scored her second goal of the game in the 71
st minute off a nice assist from freshman
Ann-Marie Schwaner.
Destiny Hird added her first goal of the season in the 83
rd minute to give UWF the 5-0 victory.
OVERALL STATS: West Florida had the advantage in time of possession with 62% and outshot Albany State 33-3. UWF had eleven corner kicks today, while holding the Golden Rams to three total.
NEXT UP: The Argos will host Saint Leo at the UWF Soccer Complex next Sunday at 12:30pm CT in Pensacola, Florida. Saint Leo is (2-1-1) shutting out Mississippi College 1-0 in their season opener. UWF is (7-1-2) all-time against Saint Leo and 3-0 versus the Lions at the UWF Soccer Complex.
