Â
The Argos jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back. At one point during the first half of the game, West Florida led by 20. The fast paced tempo gave multiple Argos the opportunity to get in on the scoring and by half time nine different Argos had scored.
Â
Leading the way for West Florida at the half was
David Petit-Homme with eight points. The Argos scattered scoring gave room for everyone to show their athleticism on the court. Putting the Argos on the board early was Brandon Buford, knocking down a jumper. Almost immediately after, Burford picked up his first assist of the night after
Daniel Sofield made a layup. The Argos scored 32 points in the paint in the first half.
Â
The Argos were 21-34 at the end of the half, shooting 61.8 percent.
Â
With West Florida being up by 11 at the first media timeout Spring Hill had to work their way back into the game from the very beginning. The Argos zone defense proved too much for the Badgers. During the first half SHC had 15 turnovers and UWF was able to score 19 points off of turnovers in the first half. West Florida had 10 steals in the first half.
Â
The second half was more balanced as West Florida maintained the lead. In the second half the Badgers offense showed tremendous improvement. SHC was 19-34 from the field, shooting 55.9 percent. West Florida was 20-37 during the second half, shooting 54.1 percent.
