Pope Named GSC Player of the Week After Achieving Four-Goal Game

Pope is the Third GSC Player to Score Four Goals in One Game This Season

Pensacola, Fla. --- After an outstanding four-goal game, Brianna Pope was named this week's Gulf South Conference player of the week.

Recording two starts over the weekend, Pope helped lift the team to a 1-0 win over No. 11 Lee University (Oct. 7) and record a career single-game high after scoring four goals versus Shorter in a 10-0 final (Oct. 9).

Pope's four-goal game put her on the top of the nation's list to be tied with 12 other Division II players for most goals scored in a single game. The last time an Argo player scored four goals in one game was back in 2010 and only three Gulf South players' have achieved this in the 2022 season thus far.

Pope ranks sixth in the nation for points single-game high after earning an eight-point game on Shorter.

Pope and the Argos head back home to take on Spring Hill at the UWF Soccer Complex Friday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m.
