Dos Santos earns D2CCA First Team for second straight year

JACKSON, Tenn.- The 2022 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Men's Soccer All-South Region Teams were announced Tuesday, November 15. The teams were voted on by the region's sports information directors. West Florida received two All-South Region Awards.

Junior forward Kainan Dos Santos was named D2CCA South Region Player of the Year and received First Team All-Region honors after his efforts this season. Dos Santos earned Gulf South Conference Player of the Year earlier in the season after leading the team and conference in goals (12), points (30), and shots (63). He had at least one goal in 11 out of 19 games for the Argos including four game-winning goals.

Along with Dos Santos, freshman defender Fynn Geigle received Second Team All-South Region honors for his first time. Geigle earned All-GSC First Team honors after leading the team in assists with nine and having an incredible freshman campaign. The German native recorded the most minutes on the team with 1639 minutes and started and played all 19 games for UWF.

Both players have been a key asset to this Argonaut team. The Argonauts finished the season with a 12-2-4 record after falling in penalty kicks to No. 5 seed Rollins. UWF made their third straight NCAA tournament appearance and fourth straight GSC championship appearance.
