PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Coming off a midweek win over a 30-win Spring Hill team, the UWF baseball team will travel to Lee to close the 2022 regular-season this Friday and Sunday. Friday's game is at 6 p.m. Eastern Time and Saturday's doubleheader is at 1 p.m. ET. All three games will be played at Larry Carpenter Field  on Lee's campus in Cleveland, Tennessee.
WHAT'S AT STAKE: UWF is in fourth place in the league at 15-10. The Argonauts can finish anywhere from 2nd to 5th place depending on various outcomes.
ABOUT UWF: UWF is 22-19 overall following Wednesday's 4-2 win over Spring Hill ini the final home game of the season. The Argos are 6-10 on the road this season. In GSC play, they have series wins over CBU (3-0) and West Alabama (2-1), and losses to Montevallo (3-0). They only played one game at Delta State in the scheduled series two weeks ago and los that contest.
ABOUT LEE:Â The Flames are 24-21 overall and 14-12 in seventh place in the league slate. Lee is 14-9 at home this year (8-2 in their last 10) and has won three of its last four weekend series, with wins over No. 1 Tampa, Shorter and Christian Brothers. They dropped two of three to Montevallo last week.
SERIES HISTORY: UWF leads the series 17-6 since the first meeting in 2014. The Argos have won the last six, which includes a pair of postseason contests a year ago - 10-7 at the GSC Tournament in Oxford, Ala. and 7-0 in the NCAA Regional in Pensacola. UWF is 6-1 in three previous weekend series at Lee. This is the first visit to Lee since 2018 and the Argos' first visit to Larry Carpenter Stadium since it was built in 2019.Â
O'SHEA TIED FOR UWF CAREERÂ HR MARK: UWF senior
Cullan O'Shea has 24 home runs in his three seasons with the Argonauts. That is tied for first all-time at UWF with Stephen Jackson (1995-98). O'Shea is also second all-time in slugging with a .632 mark.Â
GSC TOURNAMENT INFO: The GSC Tournament will be played at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala. for the third time since 2019. Play will begin on Friday, May 6 with four opening round games. Tickets for the GSC Baseball Championship will be $10/day are available online and at the Choccolocco Park box office. Parking for the event will be $5/day.
