INDIANAPOLIS - The UWF men's soccer team was selected as the No. 6 seed in the 2023 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship as announced by the committee on Monday.

The Argonauts will play a second round game at No. 3 seed Wingate on Saturday at 3 p.m. eastern time. The game will be played at Pride Park on the Wingate campus.

UWF is 11-1-5 on the season and coming off winning the program's 11th Gulf South Conference Championship last weekend in Huntsville, Ala. The Argos went 5-1-5 in the GSC regular season.

The Argos rank seventh in the country with 2.82 goals per game and have scored 48 on the season. Defensively, UWF is 18th with an .824 goals against average and compiled eight shutouts.

UWF is making its 10th NCAA Tournament appearance and fourth-consecutive since 2019 (no tourney was played in 2020). The Argonauts are 2-7-4 all-time in the event and advanced to the national semifinals in 2006.

The advancing team from the UWF-Wingate game will play in the third round against either Florida Tech, Lynn or Chowan.
