NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
 
INDIANAPOLIS – The UWF women's basketball team was among 10 teams included in the first edition of the NCAA Division II regional rankings as announced by the organization Wednesday.
 
All 10 teams in each of the eight D2 regions were listed alphabetically as teams under consideration. The second and third rankings the next two weeks will be in rank order. The top eight teams in the South region will qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Selection Show is on Sunday, March 5 at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time on ncaa.com.
 
UWF is 17-6 on the season and currently tied for third place in the Gulf South Conference with a 16-4 record.
 
The other teams under consideration include the other top three GSC teams – Lee, Union and Valdosta State, along with Eckerd, Lynn, Nova Southeastern and Tampa from the Sunshine State Conference and Savannah State and Tuskegee from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
 
The Argos return to action on Thursday at the UWF Field House against Auburn Montgomery (7-18, 6-15). Tip-off for the annual Play 4 Kay game presented by Baptist Oncology is at 5:30 p.m.
