BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Zoe Piller was named the Gulf South Conference women's basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday following two double-doubles last week.
Piller averaged 24.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game in a road split against Union and Christian Brothers. She shot 68 percent from the floor and was 11-of-12 at the free throw line while also blocking two shots, collecting two steals and handing out a pair of assists.
Against the Lady Bulldogs on Thursday, she had 21 points and 11 boards before a dominating 28 points and 14 rebounds at CBU on Saturday. She now has 11 double-doubles this season and five straight.
The sophomore from Nolensville, Tennessee is averaging 16.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game this year. She leads the GSC and ranks 18th in the country in field goal percentage at 57 percent.
This is the third time she has earned the weekly honor from the GSC, the most by any player this season.
UWF is 16-6 this season and in fourth place in the league with a 15-4 record. The Argos will travel to Valdosta State (17-4, 16-3) this Saturday for their next game. Tip-off at the VSU Complex is at 2 p.m. Eastern Time.
