Hannah Harper Named GSC Softball Freshman of the Week

The Orlando native is the leading hitter in the GSC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Florida's Hannah Harper has been named the Gulf South Conference Softball Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday. This is Harper's first weekly conference award of her career.
 
Harper hit .750 in the series against Shorter, going 9-for-12 with four runs scored, a double, and two RBIs. She had multiple hits in all three games of the series, with a 4-for-4 day in Sunday's series finale.
 
The freshman also leads the Gulf South Conference in hitting, with a .493 batting average that ranks 14th in the country. Her .548 on-base percentage is second in the GSC and 23rd nationally, and she is 12th in the GSC in hits (36).
 
She has been even better in conference play, hitting .523 with a team-best 12 runs scored.
 
Harper and the Argonauts visit Spring Hill for a nonconference doubleheader on Wednesday in Mobile, Alabama, before hosting Montevallo on Friday and Saturday.
