PENSACOLA, Fla. – The UWF Men's Cross Country Team returns home for the LifeCycle Tax Advisors Argonaut Invitational on Friday morning at the UWF Cross Country course.
The race begins at 7:30 AM, preceding the women's race at 8:15 AM. Six other teams will be joining the Argonauts in the men's race.
West Florida is coming off two very successful meets to start their season, finishing third and second at the Foothills Invitational and the UNA Invitational.
Head Coach
Caleb Carmichael's group has been paced by redshirt junior,
Zach Fenton. Fenton, the reigning Gulf South Conference runner of the week, took home the individual honors in Florence, Alabama as he ran a 24:43.28 in the first 8K of the year for UWF. He now holds the top-four fastest times in program history.
Parker Nunley and Will Jetton also placed in the top-five finishers, with Jetton earning GSC Freshman of the Week, for his mark of 25:55.36.
Nathan Deboutez and
Carson King also finished in the top 10 for UWF.
UWF In the Rankings
West Florida earned the eighth spot in the latest USTFCCCA South Region Poll. UWF has earned in a spot in the last two polls. Lee, Mississippi College and Alabama Huntsville took the top three spots, with Embry-Riddle and Florida Southern rounding out the top five. Auburn Montgomery, West Georgia and Montevallo were also in the top 10.
