PENSACOLA, Fla. --- No. 14 UWF baseball has a quick turnaround and heads to Cleveland, Miss for a three-game conference series against Delta State.

The Argos and Statesmen will open with a Saturday (March 23) double header at 2:00 p.m. and play a single game on Sunday (March 24) at 1:00 p.m. The games will take place at Harvey Stadium at Ferriss Field.

The Argos just completed a two-game non-conference series over Peach Belt opponents, Georgia Southwestern. UWF dropped both games (12-1, 9-8) at home, including a game played a Blue Wahoos Stadium. The mid-week results put UWF at a .680-win percentage.

Starting last Friday (March 15), UWF played five games in six days. They are 3-2 in the latest five contests.

Darrien McDowell leads the team offensively with a .411 average. He is one of two players who records 25 consecutive starts. McDowell tallies nine home runs on the season. He his two home runs away from tying the home run career record of 25 homers.
Cullan O'Shea (2019-22) currently holds that record.

Parker Tubb follows McDowell with a .354 average. Tubb has made 13 starts and 24 appearances in the outfield position.
Trent Jeffcoat and
Jackson Grabsky continue to be offensive threats. They each record double digit hits and RBI. Jeffcoat sees a .418 slugging percentage with Grabsky holding a .416 on base percentage.

Kade Manderscheid and
Jacob Heath recorded starts on the mound. Neuschwander leads in innings pitched at 41.2 and 35 strikeouts. Manderscheid follows with 34 strikeouts in 37.1 innings pitched.

Delta State are sixth in the conference standings with a record of 16-14, 8-6 GSC.

Dylan Coleman leads offensively with a .385 average. In 23 appearances and 22 starts, Coleman leads in home runs (7) and RBI (25). He is also tied for most hits (37) and doubles (6). Brett Burrell joins Coleman with most hits (37) and Wes Warnock tallies six doubles to his name.

Burrell and Warnock sit above a .320 batting average each.

Drake Fontenot is 4-2 in eight starts on the mound to lead the pitching squad. He's seen 39.2 innings pitched with 36 strikeouts.
