PENSACOLA, Fla. - No. 7 UWF men's tennis (14-4, 8-1 GSC) heads to Georgia for its last two matches of the regular season next week. The team takes on Hawaii Pacific on the campus of Valdosta State before traveling to Columbus State for the match that was called off last month due to rain.

Argo Updates:
The Argos leave the friendly confines of the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex, where they finished off a perfect 7-0 home streak and an 8-1 conference record with a 6-1 win over No. 24 Auburn Montgomery and 7-0 sweeps of Christian Brothers and Delta State last weekend. UWF still has not dropped a match after having a 2-4 record at the beginning of March after consecutive 5-2 road losses to No. 17 Mississippi College and No. 19 UT Tyler. The Blue and Green actually stay at their spot in the rankings this week after moving up to that spot following ranked wins over North Georgia and Valdosta State, now at No. 9 and No. 3 in the ITA National Rankings, respectively.
Â
Sebastian Rondon and
Sebastian Sotelo still represent the Argos in the ITA Singles Rankings at No. 14 and No. 33, respectively, after each registered 4-0 overall records over the past week. Additionally, the team got their first spot in the ITA Doubles Rankings since the preseason as the duo of Sotelo and
Tomas Leston comes in at No. 49. The duo owns a 6-1 mark this season at the Nos. 2 and 3 positions, including a 2-0 mark last week.

Previewing Hawaii Pacific:
UWF heads to Valdosta for a match on Monday, April 15 at 10 am ET/9 am CT against No. 26 Hawaii Pacific (10-2, 6-1 PacWest). The Argos have a 9-5 lead in the all-time series between the programs, but have lost the last three after winning four in a row before that and the first five meetings. The Sharks won the last meeting 4-2 in 2022 in Altamonte Springs, Fla. The Argos' last win in the series came in a 9-0 sweep in 2018 in Pensacola. The sides have only met on one of the teams' home campuses four times, playing in Pensacola in 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2018 but never in Kailua, Hawaii. The teams have also met three times in the national tournament, all of them won by the Argos, including a 5-3 win in the Finals match in 2014 to cap off UWF's historic 29-0 national title-winning season.Â
Â
The Sharks are led by Hendrik Bode, an alum of the program now in his 13th season as head coach. During his playing career at HPU, he was a member of three NCAA national tournament teams and ranked as high as No. 5 in the country in singles.
Â
Previewing Columbus State:
The Argos wrap up their regular season on Saturday, April 20, at 11 am ET/10 am CT at No. 5 Columbus State (11-5, 3-1 PBC). The Argos lead the all-time series 8-2 and won the last meeting in Pensacola last season 4-3, as
Santiago Kearney clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles. The Cougars are led by Evan Isaacs, a former CSU player who is now in his 25th season as head coach of his alma mater with an all-time overall record of 388-134 and a 128-50 record in conference play, a resume close in nature to UWF head coach
Derrick Racine.Â
