PENSACOLA, Fla. – Four University of West Florida tennis student-athletes were named ITA All-Americans, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced.
On the men's side, Sebastian Rondon and Diego Duran were each named ITA All-Americans in singles while also earning doubles All-America honors as a pair. For the women, Carlota Verdu earned ITA All-America honors in singles, while Verdu and Sandra Recuenco were named All-Americans in doubles.
Rondon put together one of the top seasons in Division II tennis, playing at court one for the entirety of the year. He finished the season with a 26-3 singles record, including a 9-0 mark in GSC play, while helping lead the Argonauts to a 28-2 overall record and a run to the NCAA semifinals. Rondon was named the ITA South Region Senior Player of the Year and ITA National Senior Player of the Year, earned All-GSC First Team honors and finished the season ranked as the No. 1 singles player in the country.
Duran was dominant at court two, posting a 21-3 singles record and a 5-1 mark in conference play. He was named the GSC Player of the Year and earned All-GSC First Team honors while finishing the season ranked as the No. 2 singles player in Division II.
Together, Rondon and Duran formed one of the top doubles pairs in the country, finishing 23-2 overall, 9-0 in GSC play and 4-0 against nationally ranked opponents while playing every match at court one. The pair finished the season ranked No. 1 in Division II doubles.
On the women's side, Verdu earned singles All-America honors after holding down court one for the Argonauts throughout the season. She finished the year with a 12-11 singles record while facing some of the top competition in the country. The All-GSC First Team selection finished the 2026 season ranked as the No. 5 singles player in Division II and was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team for the second consecutive year.
Verdu and Recuenco also earned doubles All-America honors after a strong season together at court one. The duo finished 15-9 overall and 5-2 in conference play while holding the No. 7 national doubles ranking. The pair helped lead UWF to a 23-5 overall record and another successful season on the national stage.
The honors add to a decorated season for the Argonaut tennis programs, as the men finished 28-2 overall and the women finished 23-5 while both teams remained among the top programs in Division II throughout the spring.
