PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida baseball team plays their final road series before returning home to close GSC regular season contests. The Argos will head to Montgomery, Alabama and take on Auburn Montgomery in a three-game series Friday-Saturday at AUM Baseball Complex.
 
UWF (25-16, 15-9 GSC) will open with a Friday (Apr. 19) single game at 5:00 p.m. and follow with a Saturday (Apr. 20) double header beginning at 1:00 p.m.
 
Recap at Spring Hill
UWF is coming off a mid-week 17-6 win over Spring Hill (Apr. 16). Each team racked up double digit hits with the Badgers having a 17-16 edge, but the Argos still dominated in runs. Cade Easterbrook led the game with a season-high four hits. Half of his hits were doubles. Jadon Fryman and Jackson Grabsky led with four RBI each to tie their season-high RBI. Gabriel Moorer recorded his first win on the mound in 3.2 innings pitched. He threw a season-high four strikeouts and held the Badgers to no runs in his outing.
 
Scouting Auburn Montgomery Warhawks
AUM is one of two teams that have clinch a GSC Championship berth with a 27-16, 17-7 GSC record. They are currently No. 2 in the GSC standings. The Warhawks are receiving votes in the NCBWA poll, No. 27 in the latest ABCA national coaches poll and ranking fourth in this week's NCBWA South Region poll.
 
AUM has won 14 of their last 16 contests. The team is led offensively by Jackson Ceman with a .357 average. The graduate student out of Montgomery tallies 45 hits and seven doubles for 26 RBI. Tyrese York leads the group with hits (55) in 39 consecutive starts. He is second in doubles (10) while tallying a triple and three home runs.
 
Right handed pitcher Ryan Slaten leads the squad with a 3.47 ERA in 12 appearances. He holds his opponents to a best .259 batting average. Tanner Luke leads the mound with 44 strikeouts and 54.1 innings pitched. They combine for five wins. Clay Slagle, who tallies a team second-best ERA of 4.78, is 6-2 on the mound to lead the crew.
 
Argo vs. Warhawk History
The Argos hold a 15-5 history record over the Warhawks. The Argos are currently on a five-game winning streak. UWF and AUM began consistent conference competition in 2017.
 
UWF is 5-1 in the latest six matches which were all at home. On the road, UWF is 6-3.
 
In 2023, UWF swept the Warhawks in a 4-3, 3-0 and 8-6 win.
