HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- Announced Tuesday morning by the Gulf South Conference,
Darrien McDowell was named Conference Player of the Week. This is the junior's second weekly honor of the season.

Over the course of four games last week, McDowell hit a .571 batting average, going 8-for-14 at the plate. He totaled nine RBI and eight hits, including four home runs.

The Pensacola, Fla. native also slugged 1.429 and posted a .739 on-base percentage, while drawing seven walks. In the GSC series at AUM, McDowell hit .727 (8-11) with two or more hits in each of the three games. He opened the series with five RBI as he belted two home runs in a 15-7 win. He then homered once in the next two games while going 3-for-4 in game two before notching a 3-for-3 day in series finale. This is McDowell's second award of the season, he previous won GSC Player of the Week on March 4.

The Argos went 2-2 in last week's contests and clinched a GSC Championship berth.

McDowell and the Argos will wrap up the regular season at home in a three-game series over GSC one-seed, Lee, April 26-27.
