Dalton Neuschwander Drafted by the Baltimore Orioles

On Monday afternoon, with pick No. 304 in the 10th round of the 2025 Major League Baseball draft the Baltimore Orioles selected University of West Florida pitcher Dalton Neuschwander.

"Getting drafted has been a dream come true," Neuschwander said. "I first want to give all glory to God. He blessed me with the ability to play baseball and I want to glorify him every time I play. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish this without God, my family, teammates, coaches and friends who have supported me along the way. I will forever be indebted to UWF for helping me accomplish my dreams. This is just the beginning. I want to represent UWF in The Show."

Neuschwander was a three-year starter for UWF and one of the most decorated pitchers in the program's history. This past season the Spanish Fort, Ala. native posted a 2.42 ERA over 15 games. Neuschwander started in 12 games and finished with a 9-4 record. He was named a D2CCA All-American, ABCA/Rawlings All-Region and NCBWA All-Region. He was also a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American.

Prior to his senior season Neuschwander had already garnered plenty of other accolades which included D2CCA South Region Pitcher of the Year, NCBWA South Region Pitcher of the Year, ABCA South Region Pitcher of the Year and first team All-America status.

"Dalton has had an incredible three-year career for the Argos," said UWF head coach Mike Jeffcoat. "He helped lead us to three straight championships, was an academic and athletic all-american, and him being drafted is just icing on the cake for all his hard work and dedication. It's also great for our program to have a player drafted for the second consecutive year. We are proud and honored to have Dalton represent UWF."

Neuschwander's selection in the 2025 draft marks back-to-back seasons in which a West Florida player was chosen in the draft. Last year, Darrien McDowell was selected by the San Diego Padres. The Argos have now had 24 players drafted to the MLB in program history.

UWF advanced to the NCAA Division II Super Regional in the spring defeating Delta State and Florida Southern in the South Regional.
