MOULTRIE, Ga. – The West Florida Women's Diving team finished their weekend at the Moultrie Diving Invite with 25 points, putting them in second.
On Saturday, UWF Divers competed in the 1 Meter (6 Dives) event.
Olivia Nelson finished in third place, with
Adriana Mieses-Sanchez following in fourth. Nelson had a score of 244.35 and Mieses-Sanchez had a score of 219.45.
In the 1 Meter (11 Dives) event, Nelson took first place with a score of 423.15. Mieses-Sanchez took fourth place with a score of 363.60. Freshman
Katie Murphy followed in fifth place with a score of 360.10.
On Sunday, Murphy had the best finish for the Argos in the 3 Meter (6 Dives) event. She finished in fourth with a score of 222.85. Nelson followed with a score of 221.10. Mieses-Sanchez then took sixth place with a score of 211.70.
The Argos finished with a team score of 25, placing them in second after Emory.
"This event was very evenly matched," said Coach Barb Parker. "Our divers learned new skills and were able to gain confidence in their dives. The reason we love this competition is that it gives us a friendly environment with great facilities."
