PENSACOLA, Fla. - Tony Newsome was named the Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week. 

Newsome intercepted two passes in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 51-38 road win over Delta State. The first interception gave the Argos the ball at the DSU four-yard line to set up a touchdown. On the next Delta State offensive possession Newsome came up with another interception. 

This is the second GSC weekly award for the junior. 

UWF (9-0) will look to complete the perfect regular season on Sat. Nov. 15 at home against Valdosta State.
