Count It! Argos Clinch Sixth Consecutive NSISC Championship

Argos Win By Large Margin

Cleveland, MISS - The University of West Florida Women's Swimming and Diving team clinched their sixth consecutive NSISC Championship this past weekend as the Argos scored a total of 1269 points with 16 first-place medals, 10 second-place medals, and five third-place medals. 

Major Awards

Head Coach Phil Kraus won yet another NSISC Women's Swim Coach of the Year award. He led the Argos to another dominant championship and continues to push his athletes to the limit, making them strong swimmers throughout the season. 

Women's Dive Coach Barb Parker won her 12th consecutive NSISC Women's Dive Coach of the Year as she led the Argos to their dominant performance on the boards. The Argos earned first, second, and fourth place in the three-meter and one-meter boards throughout the week.

Junior Olivia Nelson swept women's diving and earned the NSISC Women's Diver of the Meet. Nelson swept the meet, placing first on both the three-meter and one-meter boards. Nelson has also earned a qualifying score for the 2025 NCAA meet. 

Swimming Results

100 Free

Sofia Kendzior placed second for the Argos in the 100 Free, swimming a 50.53. Sophomore Sydney Lewis earned third for the Argos, swimming a 50.80, and Aimee Patterson placed fourth for UWF, swimming a 51.07. 

200 Back
Shannah Dillman placed fourth for the Argos, swimming a 2:03.24. Gigi Gotaas finished with a 2:03.98, earning fifth place for UWF, and Sydney Hartis placed seventh for the Argos, swimming a 2:08.50. 

200 Breast
Alena Rozova earned herself the spot at the top of the podium for the Argos as she swam a 2:15.34 to finish first place. Olivia Copland placed third for the Argos as she swam a 2:18.24, and Ellie Rothfuss placed sixth for the Argos, swimming a 2:23.97.

400 Free Relay
In dramatic fashion, the Argos finished out the NSISC Championships with the final relay of the meet. The Argos beat Delta State to sweep the relays for the week, swimming a 3:23.29. Riley MacVane kicked off the race, followed by Sydney Lewis, then Aimee Patterson, and the anchor of Sofia Kendzior
