HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A slow start plagued the University of West Florida baseball team on Sunday as the Argos fell to Alabama Huntsville in the third game of the series, 10-5.
UAH scored six runs in the second inning to open up the lead. The Chargers had six singles in the inning.
The Argos gave themselves a chance and got back into the game in the fourth inning, cutting the lead in half.
Brett Rowell got UWF on the board with a solo homerun to start off the inning.
Gann Nobles double later in the inning scored
Alex Urias and
Dean Hotz single scored another run to make the score 6-3.
West Florida added two more runs in the eighth inning, but UAH had already added four more runs with one in the fifth and three in the seventh.
UWF finished the game with 10 hits led by Nobles two hits and two RBIs.
Jacob Heath went nearly five innings took the loss on the mound for the Argos.
Next up, the Argos will host Georgia Southwestern on Tuesday and Wednesday at Jim Spooner Field. Tuesday's game will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. game on Wednesday.
