JACKSON, Tenn. – The University of West Florida baseball team fell to Union in the first game of the weekend series on Friday night, 7-5.
UWF attempted to rally in the eighth inning scoring two runs to cut the lead to two but was unable to drive any more runs home, leaving the bases loaded. In total, the Argos left 12 runners on base in the game.
The Argos had 11 hits on the day but also took nine strikeouts.
Ben Maskin went 3-for-5 at the plate with one run and one RBI.
Grant Adams got the start for UWF and went six innings. He is now 5-2 on the season.
Gabriel Moorer came in relief for two innings.
UWF (17-10, 11-5 GSC) will begin its Saturday doubleheader with Union at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
