HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of West Florida men's basketball secured a 78–76 road victory over UAH on Thursday night at SportsMED Arena, in a contest that featured 10 lead changes and eight ties.
West Florida (17-4, 10-3 GSC) was led by
Elijah Wyche, who poured in a game-high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting while adding seven rebounds.
Aric Demings chipped in 16 points, and
Tim Hall Jr. posted a strong all-around performance with 14 points and a team-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double.
The Argonauts held a slim 33–31 advantage at halftime before the two teams traded blows throughout the second half. UWF shot 49.2 percent from the field and connected on 42.9 percent from beyond the arc, while converting 10-of-11 attempts from the free-throw line, including the decisive shots in the final seconds.
Shahar Lazar provided a spark off the bench with 11 points and five assists, while
Ryan Payne added 11 points on three made triples. As a team, UWF scored 46 points in the paint and forced 15 Charger turnovers, converting them into 25 points.
