PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida men's basketball team earned their sixth straight victory against Mississippi College, 90–77 on Saturday afternoon at the UWF Field House. The Argonauts now sit at 12–3 overall and 5–2 in GSC play with the win.
West Florida held a slim 44–42 advantage at halftime in a tightly contested opening half that featured six ties and 18 lead changes, but the Argos took control after the break by shooting a 60.0 percent from the field in the second half. UWF outscored the Choctaws 46–35 over the final 20 minutes to secure their second consecutive double-digit win.
Anthony Igiede led all scorers with 25 points, 19 of which came in the first half. Igiede shot 9-of-15 from the field, and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc while also adding four blocks and two steals.
Ryan Payne added 14 points, knocking down four three-pointers, while
Tim Hall Jr. finished with a double-double, tallying 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
West Florida showcased its depth with 24 bench points and shot 54.0 percent from the field and 45.8 percent from three-point range for the game. Defensively, the Argos forced 14 Mississippi College turnovers and turned them into 16 points, while matching the Choctaws with 40 points in the paint.
