PENSACOLA, Fla. – The 2026 UWF Softball schedule is set, with the Argos playing another challenging schedule in the program's 41
st season.
Head Coach Ashleigh McLean enters her eighth season at the helm of the program, with a 230-107 record in that time. UWF opens the season with a long road stretch, playing the first three weekends of the season away.
They first travel to Fort Lauderdale on Jan. 30 to face multiple games with Nova Southeastern and Barry before heading to Chattanooga for four more non-conference games. The road stretch ends in Milledgeville, GA where the team will face Georgia Southwestern and Georgia College.
Gulf South Conference play opens on February 20
th, which will also be the first home series for the Argos in 2026. They go back on the road to Delta State on Feb. 27-28.
March features conference series against Trevecca Nazarene, UAH, Union, and AUM. The Argos will also face a home and away midweek doubleheader against Spring Hill.
April brings matchups against Lee, West Alabama, Mississippi College, and Valdosta State. The Argos end the regular season on the road against Montevallo in the first week of May.
The Argos first postseason opportunity will be at the GSC Tournament in Oxford, AL. NCAA Regionals begin May 14-16.
The Argos are coming off a historic 2025 season that saw 38 wins, a GSC tournament championship, and an appearance in the NCAA South Regional for the first time since 2021.
They return their full bullpen, including seniors
Hannah Harper and
Haley Guffey. Eight major contributors to the batting lineup also return in 2026, including Harper,
Emma Brice,
Nevaeh Hayes,
Angelia Discenza,
Kyndal Cornelius,
Bella Holliday,
Nicole Mergen, and
Jessie Baughan.
