Argos Come Up Short in ITA Men’s National Team Indoor Championship Final

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 4 University of West Florida men's tennis team fell to top-ranked Barry University, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon in the finals of the ITA Men's National Team Indoor Championship at Farmer's Bank Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Barry secured the doubles point and claimed three singles victories to remain unbeaten on the season, dropping West Florida dropped to 3-1 in 2026.

In doubles play, the Buccaneers took courts two and three to earn the early 1-0 advantage. Mark Neyelov and Rafael Sabio battled at No. 2 doubles before falling 6-4, while Vicente Couto and Goncalo Quintela were defeated 6-0 on court three. The No. 1 doubles match featuring Diego Duran and Sebastian Rondon was left unfinished at 4-4.

In singles, Barry extended its lead with straight-set victories on courts one and four. At No. 1 singles, Sebastian Rondon pushed Riccardo Trione but ultimately fell 6-4, 7-6. Rafael Sabio was defeated 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

The decisive point came at No. 3 singles, where Mark Neyelov opened strong before Barry's Adam Lynch rallied for a three-set victory, 6-7, 6-4, 6-0.

Several other matches went unfinished, including a tightly contested battle at No. 2 singles between Diego Duran and Yan Kodjoed, as well as matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles
