BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Tucker Ricks was named the Gulf South Conference Baseball Freshman of the Week, presented by Athletic Solutions, for his performance during the week of February 16-22.

Ricks moved to 2-0 on the season as the Argonauts defeated Christian Brothers, 7-0, in GSC action. The rookie threw five scoreless innings, struck out five, walked two and allowed one hit. Ricks worked efficiently throwing 65 pitches while facing 18 batters. Ricks had a no-hitter through 4.2 innings, leaving CBU hitters with a .067 batting average.

West Florida will travel to start their series against Delta State University on Friday, Feb. 27 in Cleveland, Mississippi.
